First Look at Lex Luthor in Man of Tomorrow

Long Thai

Lex Luthor isn’t a god, a Kryptonian, or some cosmic titan — he’s a man. A terrifyingly brilliant man, but still flesh and blood. So if he’s going to throw in with his sworn enemy, Superman, and charge straight at Brainiac, he needs an edge. He needs armor. He needs a super suit. And that suit doesn’t just look good — it looks ready to wreck worlds.

Last year, James Gunn — in his role as both filmmaker and DC Studios co‑chief — announced that Man of Tomorrow would be his next project, with David Corenswet stepping into the cape as Superman and Nicholas Hoult taking on Lex Luthor. The reveal came paired with a striking piece of concept art showing the two characters side by side, Lex outfitted in an intricate green suit that immediately echoed the Hammer of Boravia figure he designed in the first movie. That was all months back. Now that production is underway, Gunn has decided it’s time to share something new.

What really jumps out here is this: Nicholas Hoult is actually inside that suit. Sure, there will be multiple versions built for different moments — some practical, some fully digital — but the fact that there’s a real, wearable version on set, and that it looks this impressive, is genuinely thrilling.
