LONG THAI
Set one year after the Clone Wars — which he narrowly survived during the Fall of Mandalore — Maul (once again voiced by Sam Witwer) is attempting to rebuild the criminal network that collapsed when his former master reappeared. He’s chosen Janix as his base of operations, a world still outside the Empire’s grip. Unfortunately for him, his resurgence attracts more than just the attention of Janix’s underworld. His activities also put him on the radar of the Inquisitors — especially Marrok, last seen in Star Wars: Ahsoka — as well as a seemingly surviving Twi’lek Jedi, Devon Izara (Gideon Adlon), and a determined local detective, Brander Lawson (Wagner Moura).
Shadow Lord follows in the footsteps of The Bad Batch as a small‑scale reunion for veterans of Star Wars animation. The series is overseen by new Lucasfilm chief Dave Filoni and brings back Brad Rau, Matt Michnovetz, and Athena Portillo — creators who previously helped shape The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch through their writing and directing work.
Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord premieres on Disney+ on April 6 with a two‑episode debut, followed by two episodes each week. The voice cast also features Dennis Haysbert, Richard Ayoade, and Vanessa Marshall.
