LONG THAI
The Monsterverse is expanding—and this new teaser makes it clear just how dramatically—when Monarch: Legacy of Monsters comes back to Apple TV for its second season. We still don’t get a full reveal of “Titan X,” but the footage offers a strong sense of the terror its emergence sparks among the humans on the ground. Honestly, even Godzilla and King Kong might have reason to feel uneasy.
King Kong may be a fresh addition to Monarch this season, but he’s hardly a newcomer to the Monsterverse films. Even so, this latest Titan appears to introduce an entirely different level of danger for the planet.
Apple’s press release didn’t offer much information about the newcomer, but what little it revealed is still plenty unsettling.
“In addition to Kong, season two will feature Godzilla and introduce a new Titan: the enigmatic Titan X, now officially on the loose. Titan X isn’t just another monster; it’s a living cataclysm. When its massive bioluminescent form breaks the surface of the ocean, the world seems to hold its breath. In Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season two, Titan X stands at the center of the mystery—an ancient force emerging from the deep, its purpose uncertain, its power unmatched, its awe and terror in equal measure.”
Here’s a tease of the story: “Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch—and the world—hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe—all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.”
The “titan event” will loom starting February 27, with a weekly rollout for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters‘ 10-episode season on Apple TV.
