LONG THAI
Few directors unveil trailers a full year ahead of release—but then again, few directors are Christopher Nolan. Earlier this month, Universal screened a new six‑minute preview of his upcoming film The Odyssey exclusively in theaters, following a cryptic teaser that never appeared online. Now, at last, the public is getting its first complete look at the project.
Based on Homer’s legendary epic, The Odyssey casts Matt Damon as Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, embarking on his long, perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The trailer doesn’t reveal much of that voyage outright, but it definitely hints at what’s in store. Take a look.
Alongside Nolan’s already stacked ensemble—which also features Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Corey Hawkins, and Benny Safdie—the film holds another milestone: it’s the first feature ever shot entirely in IMAX’s largest film format. That alone should make next summer’s trip to see The Odyssey one audiences are eager to experience.
