Started sometime in the fall of 2007 over a Tuesday Wing Night Special at Buffalo Wild Wings, a small group of friends decided to form an allegiance of culinary and appetizing fortitude. Instead of eating wings each Tuesday night, they wanted more out of their regular epicurean lives. They wanted to start something special. This legion of dining daredevils formed the Super Secret Tuesday Night Happy Fun Time Dinner Club, or the SSTNHFTDC, or the Tues Night Dinner Club, or DC for short.
Although the cast of characters has varied over the years, the founding members have remained constant through it all. The founding fathers and mother of SSTNHFTDC decreed at its inception that, henceforth, a founding member shall choose a new restaurant to dine at each Tuesday evening. Such restaurant shall not have been visited previously by at least one founding member, except when allowed for by group consensus. Tuesday nights were chosen as it wasn’t quite the weekend, but it wasn’t Monday either… a nice middle of the week event to fill our empty bellies. What briefly started out as a short-lived food blog on Xanga.com and myspace.com eventually morphed and took form into the reviews of a founding member’s Yelp.com page. However, such culinary adventures were infrequently documented and the path of these decadent voyagers became muddled with the passage of time.
These Avengers of the dining world… these X-men of the hungry stomachs… this Justice League of foodies… these founding members consist of characters known only by the following names:
1. LBTRIPPIN – his superpowers include the ability to Yelp and shoot images of his food onto a computer.
2. JIGGA LEE – his superpowers include the ability to eat large amounts of food with a small mouth.
3. STAUL WALL – her superpowers include the ability to ingest food while maintaining her fitness at peak levels.
As time has passed, the galaxy of guest stars that have joined the SSTNHFTDC universe has included an array of savory heroes such as the following:
PHIZZLE, WRAWZZ, iVINH, SWEET-T, SHIBUYA K, ALLUPONYOGRILL, and many more.
This page is the last known efforts by a founding member to document the travels and adventures of the SSTNHFTDC crew. Those who dare to follow in their footsteps had better loosen their belt buckles for this is a delicious ride.
