Mineralblu Photography – Anime Matsuri 2013 Photoshoots

Anime Matsuri 2013, arguably one of the larger anime conventions in South Texas, found itself the epicenter of cosplay in Houston. Cosplayers of all ages gathered in Houston, Texas to show off their hard work to portray their favorite characters. Anime cosplay characters ranged far and wide, including characters from such anime as Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Death Note, Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Soul Eater, Magic Knight Rayearth, Magi Labyrinth of Magic, Outlaw Star and many many more! Not limited to anime, cosplayers also dressed up in popular comic book characters, tv show characters, video game characters, and even American cartoon characters such as Doctor Who, Deadpool, Adventure Time, Final Fantasy, Bioshock, and League of Legends!

Mineralblu Photography returned to Anime Matsuri this year with the intent of bringing its own particular style and brand of photography to cosplayers, and I think our collaborations were a huge success. Preplanned Houston cosplay photoshoots this year at Anime Matsuri 2013 included Twinzik Cosplay just outside of Houston as Outlaw Star characters as well as Adventure Time with Simon and Marceline, Amaya De’Morte from Dallas as Eleanor Lamb of Bioshock 2, FOA Cosplay from Houston as Maka Albarn of Soul Eater, Jinxed-Jem and SEC-C cosplay as Magic Knight Rayearth characters, FOA Cosplay as Deadpool and Lady Deadpool of Marvel Comics, TabbyCatMittens as Aladdin from Magi: Labyrinth of Magic, and SEC-C Cosplay out of Dallas as Puella Magi Madoka Magica characters! In addition to the preplanned Houston photoshoots, I was fortunate to grab mini-photoshoots at Anime Matsuri with cosplayers such as Johnny N Junkers, Chris Oe and Shinrajunkie as Final Fantasy X characters, Shinrajunkie also as Draven from League of Legends, Mechaboy07 as Korra and Bolin from The Legend of Korra, Pixel Pop from Houston as Talim from Soul Caliber, Access Cosplay as Final Fantasy VII characters, and Aurum Cosplay as Puella Magi Madoka Magica characters!
